>Update on my leg…

>I was finally able to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic specialist and went to see him on Monday. It looks like I have a tendon tearing apart from my muscle in my calf area. The doctor has me using a walking cast for the next two months.

How can anyone teach like this? I’ve never taught behind my desk and would always be on my feet all day, walking around to monitor students, writing on the board, etc.. Getting to the office is a challenge and walking students to the cafeteria is a nightmare. God help me the next time we have a fire drill!

Sigh..I’m starting to realize that I’m not as invincible as I one thought I was. Stretching and warming up before exercise is absolutely necessary in preventing injury. I wish I can turn back time. This truly is a “wake-up” call.

  1. >Ouch! 😦 I feel your pain (figuratively speaking). Now that I’m on the cusp of 30, I’m alarmed to discover that I’m not as resilient as I once was. Here’s to a speedy recovery. While you’re convalescing, here’s something to work on: You’ve been tagged! 🙂
